I'm so excited! The Christian Liberty package came today. Because my daughter is sweating getting into college (she's going to be in the 9th grade in the fall) , I signed her up for Christian Liberty Academy at our convention. We got our intro package with our planner and "stuff". It feels like .
Now all she needs to do is complete the achievement test, send it in, and in 4 weeks we will have all of her books!!!

Let us know how she does.
Let us know how it goes!!
I always love to get new books! I think I am addicted to getting packages...
It finally came! The box that had the books, I mean!
We went with Christian Liberty because they were able to customize to what we wanted and needed. I have to say that they lived up to their reputation. They allowed dd to skip to Geometry, which we are doing on our own. Their 9th grade level is normally Alg 1/2 or Alg 1 in Saxon & she has completed Alg 2. They will only require her to take 2 more math credits. No problem, she wants to take Advanced Math & Calculus before she graduates.
Then on her Science, they are allowing her to substitute Apologia for their curriculum. This is awesome, because she loves Apologia so much! I can't wait! It took all my will power not to toss my schedule for today and work on lesson plans. But wait, what am I doing on here?
They included all the test forms and teacher manuals that they prepare. They do make it easier. DD is so excited to be in high school. We are taking a trip to central Indiana to visit my alma mater and a couple other schools next week. IU, Butler, and IUPUI. I don't know who is more excited about this next stage of her life.

I didn't get a chance to visit the Christian Liberty booth. It sounds neat.
I just got the Abeka workbooks I ordered for my 3rd grader today the handwriting book and the math drills. I really love the handwriting book it has dictionary skills and every state bird and even a little American history listed as writing lessons.
I still need to order stuff to finish up.
I bought the Apologia biology for my 9th grader on ebay today. I had to buy the 1st edition because that is the one our co-op is using. She is really excited about that class because she gets to dissect things
My ninth grader is signed up and already in one of the virtual school classes. We are rethinking taking 4 online classes. I might switch her Algebra to Making Math Meaningful. The online class sounds like a pain ~ you have to show your work with these crazy symbols like writing our square root and exponent and using parenthesis for fractions sounds really complicated when you could just write down the work.

We are doing this independently. Do you have to get your own microscope since you are going through a co-op? I looked at some at the convention, but and . I know I'll need to get them & the dissection kits, but I think I'll wait a couple months before I order.
I don't have to order microscopes because they have them at the co-op.
Which plan did you choose with Christian Liberty the one where they grade and keep transcripts or the home plan?

Because she is like me be nature, a worrier, I signed her up for the Administrative Plan. She wants the report card from someone OTHER than her mom. She also loves the idea that she can go through commencement at the school when time comes. We are located in S IN & once we move will be SE MI, not too far from Arlington Heights.Oh, I forgot that everyone had asked about the Achievement Test results. They didn't give me the results, but they did place her where she needs to be. They also agreed to her placement in math (Geometry). So I'm guessing she did alright.
Congrats on the good test score er um placement
I'm really rolling around the idea of how much we want to be under an umbrella school or how much I want to do our own thing??
Mine stresses over a heavy work load. She would rather have more time to do her hobbies art, web design and music. We will have 4 class graded by someone other than mom but I'm still making the transcript
