Since cutting back on processed meats, with all those chemical preservatives, I started really missing sausage for breakfast. So I began hunting down a good recipe. This is an adaptation of one I found somewhere.
Sprinkle all seasonings over the meat,
and using a fork, cut and mix into the meat thoroughly.
At this point, you can either let rest over night, before making patties,
or you can shape into patties (or cook in crumbles for gravy) and cook
immediately. I cooked mine immediately, and was very pleased with the
flavor!
This mix would also work well in a meatloaf.
Cost of one pound of very well seasoned sausage, with absolutely no
additives and not as much grease as the store bought variety, was a
whopping 79 cents!
