This recipe is a basic granola cereal recipe, but we just added extra liquid and beat egg for the binder to make it granola bars.
If you are making granola, mix together
all dry ingredients. If you are making cereal, don't mix in the nuts till
later.
Mix together the wet ingredients, then add to dry ingredients.
Lightly oil 2 baking sheets (we used one commercial half sheet). Spread
mixture onto sheets, pat down. Bake at 250 till golden brown. Cut into
bars immediately, then remove from pans when cool.
If making cereal, sprinkle in pans, bake at 250, mixing every 10 min,
until golden brown. After the first 20 min, add the chopped nuts to the
mix, toss, continue baking.
**You may need to adjust the baking time. When we made our first batch, we needed to keep in over longer than specified time period, because it was still too moist. Bars were fantastic though! And I don't like raisins. ;-)
