I made this for Christmas and it was delicious! Everyone raved about it so I ended up making 3 before it was over. You will not be disappointed with this recipe!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees - Lightly
grease a 13 x 9 pan. (I spray mine with the floured cooking spray)
Cake:
With mixer, combine cake mix, egg and butter and mix well. Pat into bottom
of pan.
Prepare filling.
Filling:
Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla. Add butter. Add
powdered sugar and mix well. Add chocolate chips and mix in or sprinkle on
top. (I mix mine in) Spread filling evenly over cake mixture.
Bake 40-50 minutes.
*You want the center to be a little gooey, so do not over-bake.
VARIATIONS:
Instead of chocolate chips you can substitute other things....
* Holidays: Add a 15 oz can of pumpkin to the filling; add cinnamon &
nutmeg
*Add a 20 oz can of drained crushed pineapple to the filling
* Use a lemon cake mix. Add lemon juice & zest to the filling
*Use chocolate cake mix with cream cheese filling; Add chocolate chips
& nuts to the top
*Use a spiced carrot cake mix. Add chopped nuts and shredded carrots to
the filling
*Use mandarin oranges, bananas, blueberries, or strawberries-just
coordinate your extract flavors
*Use chocolate cake mix. Add 3/4 to 1 cup peanut butter and nuts to the
filling.
