Shepherd's Pie

This is our family version of shepherd's pie....a big favorite.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans corn
  • 3 lbs hamburger
  • 1 onion-chopped
  • 6-7 large potatoes
  • Milk (to desired thickness)
  • 4 tbs Butter
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Garlic salt (to taste)
  • 2 cups Mild Cheddar cheese (or cheese of your preference)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Peel potatoes, boil and drain. In large mixing bowl add potatoes, milk, butter and salt to taste. Mash well making sure the potatoes stay on the thicker side.
Brown hamburger with onions, add garlic salt and pepper. Drain.
Pour the hamburger mixture into a 9 x 13 pan and spread evenly.
Drain corn and spread evenly over the cooked hamburger.
Spread mashed potatoes over the hamburger and corn.
Sprinkle cheese over the top evenly.
Bake for approx. 30 minutes allowing cheese to bubble and brown a tiny bit.
