These make a really yummy Breakfast type bar.
Excerpted from my mother's cookbook.
Step 1:
Mix first four ingredients, dates, almonds, apricots, rind
Step 2:
In a large heavy saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Stir in corn syrup
and sugar. Cook over medium heat till sugar is dissolved. Allow to come to
a full boil and remove from heat.
Step 3:
Stir in vanilla (into saucepan).
Step 4:
Add fruit & nut mixture and cornflakes, stir till evenly coated. Press
into 9 x 9 pan.
Step 5:
Cool and cut.
