I just got through planning out dd#1 first nine weeks of English. I found it to be a little confusing. For example in the Teacher's Manual Unit 1, they have Phonics Unit 1, pre-reading lesson 1-6, then lessons 1-30. Then towards the end of the same book, they have Reading Unit 1, pre-reading lessons 1-6 and then lessons 1-30. It was hard for me to keep it straight. There are also a lot of books to keep up with. To keep it simple on my log sheet, I put the abbreviations, which I typed next to the book title.
Unit 1: Teacher's Manual - TM Printing Practice - PP Phonic Workbook - PW Reading Workbook - RW Worksheets - WB Unit 2 & 3: Teacher's Manual Reader book - RB Printing Practice Phonic Workbook Reading Workbook Worksheets Unit 4 & 5 Same as above. They don't expect the child to know their letters or very well anyways, so it seems to me that they go very fast. I still like the program. |
