I looked at this only briefly at the convention because I thought my daughter was going to use the state online school for Algebra. Can somebody tell me what they thought of it? Have you used it? Was it confusing or easy for your child to understand? Please help2.gif

Did you look at their samples on their website? I did, and I liked what I saw. This is bearing in mind I have no Algebra know-how whatsoever and I'm probably not the best person to ask. biggrin.gif

Thanks Sumi you are the best. I went to the website before but I didn't click on the sample pages. There are so many of them Wow! I think this is what I am going to use for Algebra. Thanks so much for your help.

Okay now I am second guessing this again. After careful examination of the high school requirements and reviewing this program I noticed the geometry program is not done and there isn't an Algebra II program omg2.gif

The Jr. college near us requires completion of Algebra II prior to allowing dual enrollment. Geometry is on the PSAT and SAT and every other test dd may take I wish Saxon would have worked for us because everything would be easier the way they lay it out. I love how the book is written and the history detail they give but when it came to doing the problems (without the DIVE cd) we were lost. Now I have read that the DIVE cd's are just glorified versions of the Solutions manual. I've checked into Teaching Textbooks and it looks good( they have Algebra II and Geometry) but I think the way Making Math Meaniful explains things is so great for my daughter. Then I was thinking about using a SAT/PSAT prep book to review geometry but I feel like that might overload dd.

Seriously I feel like my head is going to explode bomb.gif user posted imageuser posted image

Okay I dragged hubby and dd to the computer and made them look at MMM vs Teaching textbooks and hubby and Madeline chose hands down the teaching textbooks. It is kinda' pricey but I don't think we can put a price tag on having a teacher explain every problem. It is still a lot cheaper than the $100+/per month tutor that was being offered to me.

So that's my curriculum for math and I'm sticking to it...although I don't blame anyone who doesn't believe me blush.gif whistling.gif
