I found this card game mentioned in a few places and it looks so neat. I went ahead and took a chance ordering it from Rainbow Resource. (They had the best price.) Has anyone else used this?
Are there any other supplements that you know are good? After the discussions here and lots of talk between dh and myself we decided to skip any formal program this year and just have fun wtih books and add ins, software, etc. We've going to work through the book Spanish Every Day: A Learning Adventure for Young Readers along with games and music. Any fun suggestions are more than welcome! |

Let me know how well it works. We are going to start teaching the girls Spanish during the summer. My honey is Spanish and speaks fluently but I only know enough to understand and get along decently.
We are going to be buying a curriculum this year at the book fair, but I cannot remember which one. (I do have it written down though!) |

We are planning using Power Glide for next year. I really liked the map and supplements they have. My girls, esp Maddie, are visual learners and so I thought this would help. Check out their website.

Thanks Kelley. We've used Power-Glide in the past and my dd didn't like the workbook set up. I might try it again next year since we've got it. |

We looked at all the different Spanish curriculum offered at our states convention last summer. The one we liked the best is "La Clase Divertida" (the fun class). The kids have enjoyed working thru the book and the videos and dh and I have had fun with it also.
It might be considered expensive but compared to some of the other stuff we looked at it wasn't too bad. It was $100. It comes with four videos, 1 cassette, teacher's manual, 2 student workbooks, plus all the art supplies for the spanish crafts in the books. The family that puts out the curriculum has a language school for homeschool families. He is a public school teacher, but he and his wife homeschool their own children. They live in Florida, Miami/Dade area I believe. I gave the set to one of our Spanish families at church to check out and they loved it! She and her dh are fluent. One of the things I bought was a childrens music cd in spanish with all the kids bible songs. The kids recognize the music so they know which song it is and are picking up the words in Spanish. The only one that trips us up is the "Padre Abraham"....lol. I'll post the link if your interested. Ginger |
