Is anyone here in the forums independently teaching their child at high school level or has anyone graduated a child out of a homeschool high school program? I'm just wondering.

Actually Donna's Son just graduated..........This year.
Chocalate Chic (Tanya) has two teenagers she's homeschooling. I think her son is in 10th grade and her daughter is in 8th grade. Are you thinking of going thru high school? By the way............I wanted to tell you that HSLDA and HEAV(VA's homeschool organization) have stats on homeschool kids and their acceptance rate into colleges. The stats are very impressive. More homeschool kids are getting accepted into the to schools like MIT, Harvard and Yale than public school kids. The trend has changed....it might be tougher in your state.....but any questions or problems you are facing, they can help with. I've been praying for you.....it really bothered me concerning your dad's attitude towards homeschooling. You've got a lot of support here........I think you've impressed quite a few of us.....with what you are trying to do. I just wanted to encourage you and tell you to keep up the good work. Merry Christmas.................By the way...........shouldn't you be asleep? |

QUOTE(gsmp) Merry Christmas.................By the way...........shouldn't you be asleep? Heh, couldn't sleep... It didn't really feel like Christmas this year...not presents or anything, that wasn't ever really my big thing...it was family, and that didn't work out well this Christmas. I don't know why...we all live really close to eachother. But yea, I have to start thinking about high school soon. I'm in 8th grade now and high school is not really that far away... Thanks everyone |

I am following this post closely too- still haven't decided about hs-ing thru highschool. I thought I had... but then DS floored me with a sudden "stupidity impulse" tonight. Now I am thinking he might have to go back to elementary school instead!
Still- time is running out- after all NEXT school year he will technically be a freshman. Oh boy- anxiety attack this way. The school here is terrible so if we DO send him back to school we will send him to the private academy he went to from k-5th. THAT means we have to move AGAIN though. |
